One year on

It's been a year since the first weigh in, the one when I went below 90kg for the first time in decades, so I thought it was time for a quick update!

While Transform360 officially finished in March, I've been trying to maintain those good habits since. It's not been easy & I've not always been successful - but even on the days when it is all going cake-shaped, I am mindful of this, and compensating on subsequent days.

I got below 80kg right at the end of the programme, but couldn't make it stick. Then we had a fantastic roadtrip holiday in Scotland,  my sister's wedding, and life started to open up more & return to normal, after the miseries of those lockdowns. So it's been hard, and my weight has been around the mid 80s mark all summer & into the autumn. Yesterday I was 84kg.

I'm trying to maintain that PMA about this - but at times it is difficult, and that old tendency to beat yourself up & feel disappointed about gaining a bit rather than celebrating all that has been lost is still there. After all, I'm still a good 2.5 stone off where I was in 2020, I'm so much fitter, healthier, better looking.....! Get a grip & cheer up FBS!

But I think it also shows how your mental state affects your relationship with food - after a few busy & stressful weeks of work, it's hard to summon the strength not to have that biscuit (or 3) while waiting for the kettle to boil, and have an apple instead, and I've not always been successful! I'm only human 🤣

Following this trip I'm going to redouble my efforts to get back to the low 80s & maybe even the mythical land beyond; I've got 6 food plans to work with, so there's plenty of choice. I definitely still have my bad food behaviour triggers when naughty stuff is out on the table - but if it's not, then I don't go looking, even though I know it's there!

I've joined a gym for the first time in 51 years - haven't been much yet & don't really know what to do when I do go either - so any tips & tricks on how to get the best out of that would be welcome. Now to get it into the daily routine so it's not a shlep to go!

So overall, can't really be unhappy or miserable about things. My new clothes still fit, I'm still beating my old best times when I'm out cycling, and I'm still eating really well about 80% of the time, as you'll have seen from Instagram. So if you're thinking about trying something like this, do it. I have no regrets at all! I'm always happy to talk to anyone about it (as some of you already know, I can taaaaaalk 🤣🤣) and have no hesitation recommending my wonderful nutritionist Vanusa.

As ever, thanks for reading, and for the continuing support.
