Week 6

Image
It's been a bit of a funny week, to be honest. After the euphoria & emotion of dipping below 90kg last week, and then the lycra photo, things felt a bit surreal this week.  Part of it was that I've got into such a routine for getting through the required 3.2 litres each day that when I had to stretch it out for longer to avoid being caught short while out and about, it felt like I wasn't drinking enough. I was, but somehow things just felt a bit off. Hoping to get back into the rhythm this week.  The new menu came through on Tuesday, and shows a marked reduction in carbs, and also introduces 2 days of fasting until lunch! Apologies in advance for anyone who gets their head bitten off during these hangry mornings - though I won't tell you when they are, so you can see if you can spot the difference! Less rice, but introducing cauliflower / broccoli rice. More lentils, a bit more dairy - and 2 evenings of soup! I also like the look of the "courgetti b...

Week 5

I'd been looking forward to this week with a mixture of trepidation & eager anticipation - because this was the week I was going back to see Vanusa to get weighed. We hid the scales some weeks ago at home, as I was weighing myself a bit too often. So I didn't really have any idea of my weight. I knew that I'd had a good start, and had stayed on plan. I knew that my trousers were baggier  my bum did not look (as) big in lycra, shirts were staying tucked in longer...I was really hoping to have dropped below 90kg, but also knew that that was a big ask. I'd started at 98.2kg. It's been a very hectic few weeks at work, getting ready for a big project go live, but this kept me distracted & not thinking too much about the appointment. I was looking forward to it though - seeing Vanusa face to face, getting weighed, seeing the progress.  I'd taken the day off so had been pottering around  killing time until 5. After some chat came the moment of truth...took my k...

Weeks 3 & 4

It's been a mad couple of weeks at work, as we've neared the end of a big software implementation. Working crazy hours is never good, but is potentially very triggering when on a killer diet. I've got to say though that working from home, where temptation is either hidden or just isn't here has made it easier to continue to follow the plan and eat well. No weight yet, as we're saving that for Friday, when I go to my second appointment with Vanusa. But there are some changes to report! my trousers don't really fit anymore - not just falling down at the waist, but also a lot roomier in the rear! None of my belts are any use anymore! I'm finding my shirt stays tucked in longer, presumably because it's not got so much work to do around my midriff. 😂 I'm reliably informed that for the reduction in Krakatoan snoring alone, this has been worth it for my darling wife. Provided I don't push it too much past 35 mins, I'm perfectly able to jog for that...
